Guidelines/Expectations

• Read the book!
• Attend monthly meetings. Due to the limited membership, your participation is necessary. If you miss two consecutive months with the group, you may be replaced to allow for a full group discussion each meeting.
• New members must be approved by the group before attending a meeting. An invitation from the entire group must be extended before joining. Currently, the membership cap is at 10.
• If you are a Discussion Leader, Host or Movie Discussion Leader, you will fulfill your responsibilities as described above.
• Books will be chosen in blocks, meaning every 3 months we will choose the next 4 books for the club. Members should come to these “Publishing Meetings” with at least 4 suggestions from the Top 100 list (posted on our blog) and a decision will be made based on group consensus. Efforts will be made to alternate different genres month to month.
• All titles on the Top 100 list are “fair game.” If a title is chosen that a member consider offensive, we still encourage you read the book and participate in discussion. We welcome all points of view! However, if you strongly disagree with a selection and prefer to skip that month, it will not count towards your two consecutive months missed. (We do encourage members to voice any of their concerns about a book choice during the Publishing Meetings so this can be avoided).
• Discussion Leader and Host responsibilities will also be determined at the Publishing Meetings. No one will be Discussion Leader and Host in the same month, and no one will have responsibilities in two consecutive months.
